Vittal: Five students suffered injuries after two groups clashed at Government College, Vittal on Tuesday.
 
The injured are Yogish (18) from Kalladka, Mohammad Bilshan (20) from Paivalike, Mohammad Shahid (18) from Golthamajalu, Sinan (18) from Nelligudde and Sanath (18) from Yermemajalu. All the injured are II year B.Com students.
 
Some of the injured were admitted to Vittal Community Health Centre while others were taken to a private hospital in Puttur. The exact reason for the clash is not known.
 
Bilshan in his complaint said that a group assaulted another group for talking to a girl in the classroom on Monday evening. However, Yogish in his complaint stated that the other group assaulted them after a silly argument in a Cricket match.
 
The college Principal filed a complaint against both the groups at Vittal police station. It is said that the angry students pelted stones and damaged the staff room.

One killed after milk-laden lorry rams into parked lorry

Belthangady: A man died after two lorries collided near Belthangady bus stand on Tuesday morning.
 
The deceased was identified as Bhumesh (20), resident of Tumakuru. Another person Sudhindra Sharma, also from Tumakuru suffered injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
 
It is said that a lorry loaded with cold drinks was parked near the bus stand on Tuesday morning when another lorry transporting milk from Ujire rammed into the parked lorry from the rear. Bhumesh, who was in the lorry transporting milk, died on the spot. The driver is absconding.
 
Belthangady police registered a case.
