Mangaluru: It is the grievance of the people that their elected representatives are available to them only during elections. However, proving this longstanding allegation wrong, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has been meeting people to hear their grievances.
 
Kateel said, “there is no need for my people to come in search of me to Mangaluru. Instead, I will come to meet them and in this direction, I have decided to spend three hours once a month at a party office and hear out people’s grievances.
 
He was at BC Road party office on Wednesday hearing grievances of people and interacting with them.
Kateel has been one of the very few elected representatives who has been constantly travelling in the constituency, making it a routine to meet people.
 
However, later speaking to reporters Kateel said that if the Kasturirangan Report is implemented in the state, then the state government will solely be responsible for the same.
 
He said that states like Kerala, Gujarat and Goa have submitted a survey report against the implementation of the Kasturirangan report in their states to the centre.
 
Karnataka state has not yet submitted a report and neither the CM nor the Minister for Forest seem to be bothered about the same.
 
The Centre will present its stand on Kasturirangan report before the Supreme Court on September 9. After this, if the report is implemented in the state then the present state government and its lethargic attitude will be responsible for the same, said the MP.
