Print Kasargod: The body of ASI Narayan Naik, who was washed away in a rivulet in spate at Pallangod, was recovered about three km away from the spot at Golitthady here on Tuesday.
On Saturday evening, the 52-year-old ASI of Kumbla police station and a resident of Adoor Noojibettu was swept away when he tried to cross an inundated bridge at Pallangod.
Despite, fire service personnel and locals rushed to the spot immediately and searched for Naik, the search operation was hindered due to heavy rains. However, on Monday, the ASI’s bike was retrieved about 3km away from the accident spot.
Malpe boat capsize incident: Dead body of missing fisherman retrieved
Malpe: The dead body of Shivananda Kotian (26) was recovered from Kaipunjal sea shores near Kaup on Monday.
It may be recalled that one fisherman died, other was injured and another went missing in a boat capsize incident reported from Padukere on July 18.
Shivananda was the fisherman who went missing in the incident and after two days of intensive search operation, fighting turbulent sea and unfavorable weather, the body of Shivananda was retrieved on Monday near the Kaup yard.
Padukere Shanthinagar resident Ravi Kotian (35) had died in the boat mishap while Vijith (25) was rescued by fellow fishermen.
