ADHAAR cards found in scrap; postman suspended

Puttur : In a bizarre incident reported from Chokkady here, as many as 30 ADHAAR cards that were supposed to be dispatched to the respective beneficiaries, were found dumped in the scrap.
The ADHAAR cards were addressed to people in the Chokkady post office limits. The owner of a scrap shop here was taken by surprise to see the cards along with the scrap. The cards were all wrapped in a newspaper bundle. The issue was immediately brought to the notice of the local inspector. Hence, the cards could be dispatched to the beneficiaries concerned.
Chokkady postman was on Monday, April 20, suspended form work for dereliction of duty.
