Siblings’ fight over money ends in death of one in Malpe

Udupi : Clash between two brothers owing to monetary issue ended up with death of the elder brother on Monday, April 20.
The deceased Prakash Acharya, was a carpenter by profession and a resident of Moodubettu here. He was 32.
According to sources, Prakash had started constructing a separate house for himself near his current residence and for this, he used to demand for money from his mother and younger brother Umesh Acharya (28). On Sunday night, Prakash is again said to have demanded money, which triggered a clash between the brothers. During the course of the fight Umesh, in a fit of anger hit Prakash’s head with a wood club. Prakash started bleeding profusely and after some first aid from his mother and wife, he is said to have gone to sleep. On Monday morning, he did not wake up, following which he was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. On learning about the death, Umesh is said to have gone absconding.
A case has been registered at Malpe police station.
