Mangaluru: The Pandeshwar police along with the help of Cyber crime police station, Bengaluru have arrested Shriram Yadapaditthaya, for publishing derogatory comments against Christianity and has been remanded the judicial custody. Sources said that Shriram was arrested in Bengaluru on Tuesday March 3 and has been brought to Mangaluru on Wednesday March 4.
Police refused to divulge any details of the arrest. Shriram, a native of Shivamogga is facing charges under IT Act for posting abusive comments against Jesus Christ and Christianity. Even though he also posted an apology in facebook stating that he had made those comments out of ’unknown anger’ and said he repented his action, complaints had been filed in seven police stations in the district against him and the police captured him within 24 hours after the initial complaint was registered.
