MANGALURU: Want to be rewarded just for checking in at places?
 
’MeDine’, a free mobile app, does just that. Every time a user walks into MeDine’s partner places, the app’s ’intelligent assist’ feature automatically recognizes the location and alerts the user collect reward points.
 
The beauty of this app is this technology works even without GPS being or when the data is switched off. Satish Medapati, Incubator at TouchPoint Data Sciences Pvt. Ltd, Bengaluru, says their proprietary technology allows the app to work in the absence of these two options and the reward points can be redeemed for a host of shopping, lifestyle, movie, ecommerce or utilitarian e-gift cards/e-vouchers. From a consumer’s standpoint, a download of 6MB plus app gets the user rewarded at places that he/she goes to with the least possible effort of just one single tap,’’ he says.
 
Satish, who calls himself a learner than the Founder and CEO of the enterprise, has about 10 years of analytics, data sciences and portfolio management across multiple domains. We are building a platform for businesses to reward customers just for walking into stores and reach out to customers real time. Converting digital traffic to foot traffic, essentially to personalize intelligently,’’ he says regarding the effort and idea which went behind this app.

Currently his team is focusing on optimizing the ’intelligent assist’ technology to a good measure of accuracy and making it work across all devices. Though we do have a viable product in the market that works very well, we haven’t addressed all devices or all operating systems. We are re-branding the new product with a name that suits the current business model. We should be making rewards more exciting to earn and focus on growing the consumer base we have already,’ he adds. The app is available on Google Play. We are working on iOS. Windows may be a few months away as we are waiting for Windows 10,’’ notes Satish.
