Mangaluru : Seeking better facilities in Air India Express flight plying between Mangaluru and Kuwait, the office-bearers of Gulf NRI Forum-Kuwait urged the flight management to take steps in improvising the services.
 
 Addressing the press persons on Monday, February 16 at Hotel Janatha Delux, Gulf NRI Forum-Kuwait President Pascal Pinto stated that even though AI Express is the first flight to connect the coastal people overseas, it has to modify its services.
 
 “The present timing of AI Express is causing inconvenience to people as it leaves Mangaluru at 7.30am and reaches Kuwait at 11.15am. In the return direction, the flight from Kuwait will leave at 12.15pm and arrive at Mangaluru at 7.25pm. Being the odd timings, by the time the passengers reach city, they find it difficult to reach their house,” he said seeking implementation of old timings.
 
 As per the old timings, AI Express used to leave Mangaluru at 6:15 pm and reached Kuwait at 11:00 pm. In return journey, it used to leave Kuwait at 12:05 am and arrived at Mangaluru at 7:15 am.
 
 The Gulf NRI Forum has also urged the authorities concerned to provide good seating facilities and refreshments to the passengers of AI Express.
 
 “There are senior citizens and women travelling with kids for almost five hours and they find it difficult to sit as the seat cushions are in bad condition,” he added.
 
 Complaining on rejection of credit cards during billing process Pinto stated except AI Express, all the other flight services accept credit card services while booking the tickets.
 
 “The management states that by using credit cards we may become a prey for online hacking while we never faced such problem while booking tickets in other flights,” Pinto added.
 
 The members urged that being one of low cost carrier of Air India - Air India Express must improvise their facilities failing which they will definitely lose out the passengers from coastal belt.
