Organisations protest against alleged ’ Love Jihad ’ case in Kundapur
Kundapur : Taking up the issue of Love Jihad again, several associations on Friday, November 7 held a peaceful march to the Kundapur police station and submitted a memorandum to the police in this regard.
The protest today was triggered after a 22-year-old married woman, a resident of Rattadi, Amasebailu allegedly eloped with a 27-year-old man from another community, who lived in the same vicinity. The organisations said that the families of both of them have filed missing complaints.
The protesters accused that several girls were being kidnapped and trapped in the name of religion. They also demanded the immediate arrest of the man with whom the married woman had eloped. It is said that the man who is employed in Dubai was back in his hometown last month to attend his sister’s wedding. Supporting the protest, shop owners and hawkers kept their shops closed.
Underworld aides target businessmen in region
Puttur: Anti-social elements seem to making hay as sun shines. If sources are to be believed, a jeweler and a realtor received extortion calls from underworld don Kali Yogish. It is said that the duo received call from Dubai displaying number +301 and + 334.
The Puttur police who are investigating the case revealed that two youth from Puttur and Sullia are providing the contact details of the popular businessmen in the region to the underworld elements in lieu for money.
Earlier in Mangalore, various businessmen received life threats from Bannanje Raja for money. But city police succeeded in busting the racket of threat calls in Mangalore. Now, the cases of extortion cases are being reported all over again.
Further investigation is on in the case.
