Kota: Officials of the Labour Department, Dupuis, acting upon on a complaint by public, on Wednesday, October 29 raided a bar in Sastan and rescued a child labourer employed in the bar as a cleaner.
Charan (13) [] name changed], originally hailing from a village named Sindan in Bandra district of Uttar Pradesh is the rescued. It is learnt that the boy was employed in the bar last week. Poor financial background of the boys family is said to be the reason why he was compelled to get employed in the bar. He was reportedly brought to the bar by a mason hailing from UP.
The boy was then rehabilitated in a fit institution at Kedooru, Thekkatte.
District Senior Labour Officer H P Jnanesh, Kundapur Labour Officer Sathyanarayan, Jeevan Kumar, Prabhakar Achar, Keshav Koteshwar of Spoorthi Dhamma and Kota police officials were present.
Drug peddler arrested; Ganja worth Rs 50, 000 seized
Mulky: A total stock of ganja estimated to cost over Rs 50, 000 was confiscated from drug peddler who was arrested by the Mulky police on Wednesday. The arrested is Muhammad Yasin Sultan (25), a resident of Aikala.
Police, on receiving reliable information that a ganja deal was about to be sealed near Concetta Hospital in Kinnigoly, rushed to the spot and nabbed Muhammad.
Mulky Inspector Ramachandra Naik, ASI Vaman Salian, constables namely Vijay Kanchan and Sudheer were involved in the operation. He was later produced before the court.
