There were only six people in the building.
Fire brigade workers, who pulled the injured out of the debris, attributed the crash to seepage of water into the basement of the building.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (K R Puram) Siddappa said all residents of the building have been accounted for and none was trapped under the debris. Rescue teams were clearing the debris till late in the night.
The BBMP has announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 25,000 to each of the injured.
