Traffic Jam for hours in Kemmannu.

Kemmannu, October 21: In an incident happened this afternoon at 2.30 PM in Kemmannu, the patience of the road commuters was tested positively.  A traffic Jam for hours near Ganapathi Vyavasaya Seva Sangha, Niyamitha, Kemmannu was the incident and the cause of testing this patience. The crossing between two buses and  a truck was the initial cause and went worst as more vehicles joined behind them. It took hours to clear the traffic and according to this reporter, all effected people were seen helping each other to clear the traffic jam.

Kemmannu Road commuters have great difficulty passing through the town as the street is very narrow and  moreover  many vehicles are parked in front of the shops/bars. Pedestrians, elderly and school children have put their life in risk everyday because there are no signs of no parking boards for these vehicles as well as there are no sidewalks or foot paths for these pedestrians.

So, Is it not the high time for the local Panchayat, Local leaders and the elected representatives to provide a wider and safer road to Kemmannu Road Commuters??

Why Kemmannu/Hoode smart people are silent now...Do we know that expressing their views in this portal make panchayat and elected authorities to stand up from thier chair and act on this......

Kemmannu.com, kindly take up the issue. Most if the time there are many suggestions and rarely any action followed. Please wake up the Traffic/Panchayat authorities that this problem comes to an end. Thanks

It’s the duty of local panchayats to improve the basic needs. Widening the road is one of them. Even Central State govts has earmarked lot of funds for widening the road. To widen the Kemmmannu road from Santhekatte to Hoode, all three panchayats should sit and chalk out the action plans. And local MLAs should involve in this. Panchayat presidents should take initiatives to solve this problem. If they don’t have the will or commitments what’s the use of such presidents. On time to time each panchayats receive govt grants and where these money goes. The need of the hour is immediately to widen the stretch between Hampankatta to River side. Then riverside to Hoode.Elders of Kemmannu should take this issue seriously in the interest of general public and future of Kemmannu.

True the Kemmannu town may have come into existence in the 18th century with thatched hey roofs for shops. The existing road now was meant only for the bullock carts in the past for transport, one can imagine the width was the same elapsed time is more then hundred years since the animal carts used this this road. while the oldest buildings still exist without any maintenance and the fourth generation of the building owners are not interested to upkeep their property by constructing new buildings by specified construction norms people suffer, development hinders it is in the history of the Thonse that great generous donors like Baikady Saheb, Ahmed Bai, Many christian and Hindu families have offered their land without any compensation! Thanks for their kind deed towards the society. May the Bhagavan Alla and Jesus help us to come out of the bottle neck in Kemmannu. it is sad every woman who owns car never dares to drive it through Kemmannu town it makes piss off when ther’s a truck or bus head on from opposite direction!

when we came from Udupi to Hoode, road is better than other area except kemmannu junction. in kemmannu junction very difficult to pass 2 vehicle at a time, same time many vehicles are parked in particular area and disturbed all public and wasting their valuable time. some time even ambulance are struck during the emergency and its a matter of somebody’s life.

Please wake up related department officers and concerned MP, MLA and politician those who are related with Kemmannu area

I was writing on this issues several times including Kemmannu.com but the concerned authorities are sleeping as said by Ronnie, its high time to wake up or the public should make the authorities to wake up from their deep sleep, Whenever I goes on vacation the night mare starts from GVSS to Carmel School, authorities can avoid this bottle neck by either constructing a bypass road through Hindu School or take the road straight to kemmannu kallianpur road and widen the stretch, by doing this we can avoid the 90 degree bend at bavikatte which is totally unscientific, I am requesting Kemmann.com to raise this issue with the panchayath president Mr. Nithyannada who is progressive and I am sure he will take some action on this and meantime our MLA Mr. Pramod Madvarajhe too will response if we take this issue seriously. I was on vacation 2 months back and I had taken photos on every day whenever we have struck in this bottle neck and I was plying on this road twice a day and there only two to three instances where I have passed this stretch freely. when I was student this stretch reminds me the kalsanka kadiyali stretch, thanks to visionary leader who transformed the Udupi in to modern city

In-spite of several suggestions, the concern authorities are sleeping. Do they want some worse incidence to happen?

Convert the road as one way. Initially there will be likes and dislikes. But that is the only alternative.

Wake up Traffic Deptt and Panchayat
