Print Three Tamil Nadu fishermen found in Oman fishing boat in Malpe
Unable to bear the alleged irregular payment of wages by an Oman-based fish trader, three Tamil Nadu fishermen set sail in a boat from Oman to be arrested by the Indian Coast Guard near Malpe in Udupi district on February 23, 2025, for travelling without passport.
The police said the three fishermen left by a fishing boat of Shattaf Launch Manufacturing from Duqm port in Oman on February 17 and sailed a distance of 1,326 nautical miles to reach Malpe on February 23. Noticing the entry of a foreign fishing vessel towards St. Mary’s Island in Malpe, the Coast Guard ’ intercepted the fishing boat.
