Internet major Google has hired a 16-year old Chandigarh boy, Harshit Sharma, for a whopping Rs 12 lakh per month. Harshit will be flying to California in a few days from now. He has been picked up for the job of a graphic designer. “It’s a dream come true. I cannot explain how happy I am,” the boy on cloud nine said.

Unlike popular perception of students studying in flashy private school making it big, Harshit is a class XII student in the information technology stream in a government model school in Chandigarh’s sector 33. He will undergo a training course in graphic designing at Google for a period of one year. During this period, he will be getting a fixed remuneration of monthly Rs 4 lakh.

Harshit said his poster designs got him the job which he had applied some months ago. He said he went through an online interview after which he was selected for the priced job. His parents are teachers and natives of Kurukshetra in Haryana.

Harshit was an average student but had a passion for graphic designing from the very beginning which is what made him excel in his dream. For years he has been into designing. He credits his uncle Rohit Sharma for his success saying it was his help and training which made him win. The young lad had been keeping busy in making graphic posters for movies during his school term which made him earn handsomely while he pursued his studies.

Harshit has also been awarded by the prime minister’s office for his outstanding performance in Digital India. This award won him a cash prize of Rs 7,000. His attractive poster designs got him selected at Google, he says. Indra Beniwal, Harshit’s principal, says the boy is an expert in innovation and has made them all proud. His younger brother is a Class, 10 student.
