Tomorrow, Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists, here in America and around the world, will celebrate the holiday of Diwali the festival of lights. This is a day when members of some of the world s oldest religions celebrate the triumph of good over evil. Last year, I marked this holiday as many will this weekend by lighting the Diya, or lamp. This lamp symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.
Diwali is a time for celebration, but it is also a time for reflection – a time when we must remember that there are always others less fortunate then ourselves. This holiday reminds us all that we should commit ourselves to helping those in need. For many, this is also a time to gather with family and to pray. To those celebrating Diwali in India, I look forward to visiting you over the next few days. And to all those who will celebrate this joyous occasion on Friday, I wish you, your families and loved ones Happy Diwali and Saal Mubarak.
Scarcity of human labour, this has made the new innovations of different forms of machines. The harvesting machine is one of them. The farming was almost to be in an extinguishing form at my place. Even after so many difficulties Stany, i have seen him struggle in the fields.
I feel i am the lucky among the few who have seen the drastic change of the modern era. Kerosine lamps to modern high-tech lamps etc.
Whatever i would love to see my kemman fields back into the green glories.

Suresh: There have been mouth feeding machines from ancient times, even before recorded history started. These machines are called breasts, well used until one learns how to chew, and then how to gather food, and then how to grow food, and later on how to harvest, and then how to preserve, and then how to profit by commerce.
When I was young, I was given a bicycle. I said, "There is nothing wrong with my legs." I had to chew my own words.
Later, I needed a car.
Now I need Aeroplanes, boats etc.
It s a sin to leave the paddy fields non-cultivated, merely because there is shortage of labour, when there are machines to do the same.
It s not enough to pray, "Give us this day our daily bread." God does not give bread, but provides necessary ingredients to bake the bread.
Yes, Stany, Santhan, George, it s not easy to introduce new methods.
I used to swim, now I can t for long. I need reading glasses too.
When, some parts of the world are enjoying the Khushi life, Why not us?
Kemmannu.com, your site is shining. Keep up.
Yes, I agree with Mr. James, It’s time to think forward and get the results. Stany, Santhan keep it up and all the best. Nice to see my cousine and uncel Reginald and Peter Lewis and also Gundu Shetty, Dhabu and some of my known people. Thanks Thomas for bringing us this development from our own fields where once I used to work and wander around.
It s high time to accept collective/cooperative farming by using modern equipment.
Advantages are many, especially when there is an acute shortage of farm human hands labour.
Soon, neighbouring villages will adapt.
My eyes have seen the glory of modern harvesting!!!
