Annual Day Celebrated at Carmel English School, Kemmannu

Carmel English School, Kemmannu, celebrated its Annual Day on 12th December with great enthusiasm on the school campus. The programme showcased a variety of cultural presentations highlighting Indian values such as respect for teachers as gurus, the role of parents, reverence for nature and water, and Indian heritage, including a presentation inspired by the era of Krishnadevaraya. Special cultural attractions included vibrant Chande and Pyramid performances, which were well appreciated by the audience.

Sr Veena Quadras, Headmistress, welcomed the gathering.

The Chief Guest, Mr Wilfred D’Souza, Ex. District Youth Officer, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GOI, appreciated the students for the quality of their performances and their collective efforts. He later emphasized the importance of parental support and guidance in shaping students into responsible citizens.

The programme was graced by Rev. Fr Philip Neri Aranha, Parish Priest of St Theresa Church, Kemmannu, as the Guest of Honour, along with Sr Chetana, Joint Secretary of the Institution, Sr Winnie D’Souza, Headmistress of Carmel High School, and Mr Sudhakar Palan, PTA Vice President.

 A special felicitation was organised by the school management to honour Mrs Mary Quadras for her 20 years of dedicated service as an attender at Carmel Preparatory School on the occasion of her retirement. Academic achievers, including the SSLC topper Ms Kushi with 609 marks, students securing above 85%, class toppers, and sports achievers were honoured with certificates, medals, and shields.

The Carmel Premiere League 2025 Sports Meet prize distribution was conducted successfully, with Carmel Challengers, Carmel Fighters, Carmel Rockstars, and Carmel Warriors competing with great sportsmanship. Carmel Warriors bagged the Overall Championship, while Carmel Fighters emerged as the Runners-up, making the event a memorable sporting occasion. In the Reel Making Competition, Carmel Rockstars secured 1st place, followed by Carmel Challengers in 2nd place.

 The programme was compered by students Ms Leona and Mr Ayaan. Teacher Prajna proposed the vote of thanks.
