Dr Padoor Gururaj Bhat, founder principal, Milagres College, Kallianpur birth centenary celebrations inaugural programme.

Milagres College, Kallianpur Udupi, June 13, 2024: Dr Gururaj Bhat is the one individual who set a road map for the research in the field of History and he is the person who created hundreds of researchers in the field of history and very particularly in the area of research of Tulu speaking areas of our district said Dr P Ganapaiah Bhat, senior researcher, Moodbidri. He was delivering a keynote address at the inaugural ceremony of the birth centenary celebrations of Dr Gururaj Bhat, founder principal of the college. He exhaustively presented the biography, contributions and achievements of Dr Gururaj Bhat.

Dr Gururaj Bhat was an unique investigator, a genuine researcher who walked miles to study the sculpture and places of historical prominence.
He was the founder principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur from the year 1967.

Milagres College Kallianpur is privileged to have such a great personality as it’s founder principal said Dr Vincent Alva, the Principal of the college. A unique historian, researcher and a personality known to the world during the days in which communication was not an easy way he narrated .

Mr Parashuram Bhat, member, Dr Gururaj Bhat memorial Trust, Udupi, Mr Muralidhar Upadya, senior litarature analyst, Udupi, Dr B Jagadish Shetty, Director, Rastrakavi Govinda Pai research centre, Udupi and Dr Robert Rodrigues, Vice President, ’Maanusha’were present.

The program was jointly organised by Dr Gururaj Bhat memorial Trust Udupi , Mangalore University history teachers association ’Maanusha’ and IQAC, Milagres College Kallianpur.

Dr Jayaram Shettigar, IQAC coordinator of the college welcomed the gathering and introduced the program to the audience. Dr Harinakshi M D, HOD, department of Kannada proposed vote of thanks. Mr Ravinandan Bhat compered the program.

Prof Sophia Dias, Vice Principal, Mrs Shalet Mathias, Prof Hilda Rodrigues, former professor of Economics, retired professors of Milagres College, associates of Dr Gururaj Bhat were present.
