Udupi ; As per the tradition Puttige Paryaya 2024/25 begins with Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji along with his junior Sri Sushreendra Theertha Swamiji of Puttige Math ascended the Paryaya Peeta at Sri Krishna Math in the early hours on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Puttige Math will be in charge of offering puja to Lord Sri Krishna from ascending the Paryaya Peeta on Thursday itself.

As per the tradition, both the Swamiji’s of Puttige Math Sri Sugenendra Theertha Swamiji and Sri Sushreendra Theertha Swamiji had a holy dip at the Dandateertha in Kaup at 1.30am. At around 2.30am, Swamiji entered Jodukatte in Udupi and later offered puja rituals to Pattada Devaru followed by Paryaya huge procession commenced.

During the procession Puttige Senior Pontiff Sri Sugunendra Theertha along with Sri Sushreendra Theertha Swamiji proceeded towards the Sri Krishna Math with large number of tableaux and cultural troupes at 2.50am from Jodu Katte via old taluk office, Court Road, Old Diana Circle, Tenkapet and culminated at Car Street. Meanwhile both the Swamiji’s were taken beautifully decorated open vehicle.

Puttige Pontiffs received the Darshan of Lord Krishna through Kanakana Kindi and also that of Lord Chandramoulishwara and Lord Anantheshwara. Afterthat, he took charge by receiving tha Akshata Patre and a silver spoon and ascended the Sarvajna Peetha of Sri Krishna Math.

Later, the Puttige Math Swamiji presided over the Paryaya Darbar held at Rajangana along with other dignitaries and graced the beautiful traditional occasion.
