Santhekatte/Kallianpur, Dec 6, 2020: The much awaited Rs. One Crore new full fledged weekly market which was suppose to start its operation from today (Dec 6) as per the CMC press note (Banner)at Santhekatte. CMC failed to keep-up their own Schedule.
The banner put-up near the existing market last week mentioned that the next Sunday market has been shifted near to the new building. But Today’s trading continued at its old place in Santhekattte Junction.
According to the information received from a councilor by KNN, some finishing work at the new building is still pending. The councilor who wants to be anonymous said that, it might take another week to complete the pending work. The banner was put up by some unknown people, the local MLA is in outstation hence it is not possible to open the New building for trade tomorrow, she said yesterday.
As per some unconfirmed sources, The President of CMC Mrs. Sumithra Nayak said that the new weekly market at Santhekatte will be inaugurated on December 13.
Mr. Dhanajay, Revenue officer, Udupi, as per our source said that all pending work has been completed and the building has been handed over to Revenue Department a month ago and from next week onward the weekly market will be held in the New building.
Whatever the reasons for the post-phone, the locals who eagerly wait to see the trading at the new location blaming the CMC for failing to keep up their schedule of December 6 and now crossing their finger on the new date of December 13!!
