Fr. Victor D’Souza takes charge as Parish Priest of Kemmannu, Fr. Ferdinand departs to Pangala.

Kemmannu, June 2, 2017: Rev. Fr. Victor Gerald D’ Souza took charge as Parish Priest of Kemmannu in a ceremony held at the church. He was received and welcomed at the church by outgoing Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves along with Church Vice President Mr. Charles Lewis, Parish Council members and the Parishioners.

Fr. Victor was transferred to Kemmannu from Kandlur Parish of Coondapur Deanery as per the directive of Udupi Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo. Originally from Pakshikere, Mangalore he has completed 34 years of priesthood serving in 9 different Parishes prior to his present appointment.

Fr. Stany B. Lobo Vicar Vara of Kallianpur Denary oversaw the takeover ceremony and mandatory oath taking. Parish Council members pledged their allegiance and support to the new priest by lighting the candles from him. List of members of the parish and books of account were handled to Fr. Victor along with the keys of Tabernacle.

Meanwhile Fr. Ferdiand bid adieu to Kemmannu on Friday, June 02, 2017 to take over as Parish Priest of Pangala church in the Shirva Deanery. After the brief prayers at the church and blessing the gathered faithful he left for John da Evangelist Church along with several Kemmannu Parishioners. He was welcomed at the church by Shirva Vicar Vara Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro and Parish Priest Fr. Leslie D’ Souza and the same procedures of handover and takeover followed.
